Sweet Baby Jesus and Cap’n Crunch??? A sweet savory blessing!

If you are a foodie like me, you probably often find yourself watching the Food Network. For me in particular, it‘s Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives. Host, Guy Fierri, travels all around the US, tasting various types of food from different establishments that have been suggested by the viewers. What an awesome job, right?

On one show, the entire episode was broadcasting eateries in Baltimore, Md. Of course, I was automatically intrigued, because Baltimore is my home town. He stopped at a place called Blue Moon Cafe. The two featured dishes were the Sweet Baby Jesus and the Cap‘n Crunch French Toast. Listen, my mouth began to water before they could even plate the food! I HAD TO HAVE IT!!!

We had driven from Va to Baltimore one day because I had an eye appointment at Johns Hopkins Having been there all day, we were starving, so I asked siri what was near by. Low and behold, Siri suggested Blue Moon Cafe! I honestly couldn’t contain my excitement in the car! We arrive and get seated. I didn’t even need a menu because I was ready to order! About 20 minutes go by and here comes two plates; one with my Sweet Baby Jesus on it and the other with my Cap’n Crunch French Toast.

I bit into the SBJ first. I think a tear fell from my right eye! It’s a plate full of shredded hash browns topped with two eggs (cooked to your liking), jumbo lump crab meat, chopped tomatoes, melted cheddar cheese, and a house made Hollandaise sauce. Y’all! It was almost orgasmic! I’m enjoying it so much, I had almost forgotten my CCFT. So, I dig my fork into this stack of bread that coated with Capt‘n Crunch cereal. Then topped with various fresh fruits and whipped cream! A tear fell from my left eye! I honestly couldn’t find the words to share with my mom and son what my taste buds were feeling! Who came up with these dishes and have they received a Pulitzer Award yet??? My goodness! The only complaint that I had was that I couldn’t finish it all (trust me, I tried) and had to box it up. These two dishes are simply amazing!!!

if you are ever in Baltimore, do yourself a favor and check out one of their two locations, Blue Moon and Blue Moon II. You won’t be sorry!
