Kitchen Klassifieds cafe...Baltimore Food Blog

Kitchen Klassifieds Cafe

14 Cain Hwy N

Glen Burnie, Md

I was excited to be invited to Kitchen Klassifieds by a fellow food blogger last week because it has been on my list of places to visit in Baltimore to do a food review.

When I arrived, I was greeted by the friendliest hostess. She was very kind, chipper, and entertaining. Once my friend arrived, we were seated and given menus and was offered suggestions on their most popular dishes.

What I didn't realize before arriving is that they do not yet have a liquor license so there are no alcoholic beverages however, you can bring your own. We couldn't quite decide on what we wanted to review because everything that was offered, we both had recently had. So, my friend got the highly suggested pork chops, and I got a catfish po'boy. We shared an order or soul rolls.

Now let the food blog begin...

Now those soul rolls were good! They consist of macaroni and cheese, yams, and greens in a deep-fried egg roll. They were delicious! My catfish po'boy was flavorful but SALTY! Now here's what bothered me... when I spoke with the chef, he was gracious and offered me something else, but he said he didn't even season the fish, so he didn't understand how I tasted so much salt. Only to find out later that he did in fact seasoned it (a little too much). Why not just apologize and offer something else (like he did) instead of adding the lie?

The pork chops were ok but neither me nor my friend felt they were worth the hype. The sides ordered were cabbage, corn on the cob, and French fries. None were very pleasing.

.

The customer service alone makes me want to give them another try but would I go back solely based off of the food experience; probably not.

Also, keep in mind if you decide to go, it is a very small place. It can hold maybe 30 people or so at a time. So be mindful and possibly make reservations if you don't want to wait.
